Course Title Child sexual exploitation awareness
Course Information

To develop an awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation and the impact of it on children, young people, and their families.
This is a full day course which is interactive and involves individual and group activities, during which participants will be expected to share their skills, knowledge and expertise.

By the end of the course participants will have -

  • examined their own attitudes and responses to child sexual exploitation.
  • explored forms of Child Sexual Exploitation and contexts in which it can occur.
  • considered the potential impact of sexual exploitation on children, young people and their families
  • reflected on key issues which influence the process of supporting children, young people and their families
  • considered issues of Child Trafficking
  • explored what services and support are available locally.
  • gained a working knowledge of legislative framework and local and national guidance and policies in relation to sexual exploitation
Course length One day
Target group

Group 2 and above.

Those in regular contact or who have a period of intense but irregular contact with -

  • children
  • young people
  • parents
  • carers

and who may be in a position to identify safeguarding concerns. This includes those which may arise from the use of a common and shared assessment.
