Course Information
  • to highlight deafness as a disability
  • to understand the varying needs of deaf colleagues and customers and to understand how to be inclusive
  • to understand deafness as a hidden disability
  • to identify a range of adaptations and communication models used by deaf people
  • to identify how to be inclusive within HCC
  • to understand how to use a BSL Interpreter and communicate with some basic signs
Course length 2 hours
Target group
  • any employee that works directly or may work directly with members of the public
  • colleagues who are deaf or deafened and wish to ensure they meet their needs
