Course Title Designated Safeguarding Leads' Refresher
Course Information

To develop participants' understanding as to how professionals should work together to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

Participants are expected to have an understanding of Hull Safeguarding Children’s Partnership Procedures and Guidance.

By the end of the training participants will have -

  • refreshed their understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a DSL
  • an increased understanding of current local safeguarding practice issues
  • explored lessons learnt from safeguarding practice reviews locally and nationally
Course length 4.5 hours
Target group

School Child Protection Co-ordinators and Designated Safeguarding Leads within schools who have previously attended the School Child Protection Co-ordinators’ Training. It was recently renamed as the Designated Safeguarding Leads’ training.

Learning pathway

Before enrolling onto this course, the pre-requisite courses; Safeguarding Children - A Shared Responsibility, Safeguarding Threshold and Designed Safeguarding Leads Training must be attended first.
