Course Information

To develop participants' understanding as to how professionals should work together to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

Participants are expected to have an understanding of Hull Safeguarding Children’s Partnership Procedures and Guidance.

By the end of the training participants will -

  • be able to identify the role and responsibilities of a School Child Protection Co-ordinator or Designated Safeguarding Lead
  • have an increased understanding of their individual responsibility and accountability in relation to safeguarding children
  • have explored the need for collaborative working, including the need to share and process information in line with legislative requirements
  • have discussed how confident and assertive practice contributes towards safeguarding children
Course length One day
Target group

School Child Protection Co-ordinators and Designated Safeguarding Leads within schools.

If you have previously attended the School Child Protection Co-ordinators’ training, you do not need to attend this course again. Book yourself onto a Designated Safeguarding Leads Refresher session.
