Course Information

A Personal Educational Plan (PEP) forms an essential part of each child's care plan. It also forms part of the child's school record. Schools and the Local Authority have a shared responsibility for ensuring that PEP are kept up to date. It improves the educational experience of the child by helping everyone gain a clear understanding of the teaching and learning provision necessary to meet the child's educational needs.

The PEP workshop will follow the child or young person through their education. It includes -

  • keeping a record of progress and academic achievement
  • highlighting strengths
  • identifying special needs
  • finding areas for improvement
  • establishing clear goals
  • identifying the agencies involved and responsible
  • the child's voice
