Trauma sensitive practice with children - Learning and Development courses

This course will support practitioners to reflect on their practice in this context and enhance their understanding of trauma to improve their practice with children who have experienced trauma.

It will help the learner to -

• gain an understanding of what are traumatic events
• look at adverse childhood experiences an how these can effect children in a range of areas
• consider children's behaviours and responses as attempts to survive
• understand behaviours which are not helpful in practitioners and carers
• look at how we can help children on their journey to recovery
