Threshold of Need - Learning and Development courses

This course will help you develop an understanding of the application of the Hull Threshold guidance and framework. It can be used as a model for working together to meet the individual needs of children, young people, and families.

Course objectives

To differentiate between the levels of support for different families at different times using the Threshold model to -

• identify the role of the Threshold guidance within the context of your own working practice. Consider how the tools might support multi-agency conversations in relation to safeguarding children
• recall the main principles of information sharing and effective communication though discussion
• explore when and how it might be appropriate to escalate concerns
• apply the Threshold guidance and framework to a case study and so demonstrate an understanding of the Threshold model
