Course Information

The workshop is aimed at foster carers to support their understanding and learning in relation to what Achieving Best Evidence is. Its process includes -

  • video evidence
  • the different forms of questions
  • the difference between language and the stages that may follow after this
  • how they can support children and young people before and after the Achieving Best Evidence Video

Upon completing the workshop, you will have a better understanding of -

  • what Achieving Best Evidence is, its history, why it is used, and its importance for children and young people
  • to understand the Achieving Best Evidence processes and why they are important, including how is it use in court
  • understanding the importance of your responses to allegations that children or young people may tell you
  • to understand record keeping and how it is used in the Achieving Best Evidence process
  • the importance of how we use language
  • to be aware of some of the dilemmas that can impact on the Achieving Best Evidence process for children and young people
