Hull Freedom Chorus is a massed singing project run by Arts Development. With a current membership of over 3000 members, it supports the development of group singing in Hull.
Joining the Chorus gives you a chance to opt into a variety of projects leading to performances in Hull at high profile events. You will work with a variety of choral leaders and artists of a very high standard, many of whom work all over the country.
You can apply to join the Hull Freedom Chorus if you are aged 14 and over, but if you are age 17 and under you will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
You just need to enjoy singing, you don't need to have any -
- experience
- singing ability
- music reading skills
You will be expected to learn songs and attend enough rehearsals to be able to perform the songs at events. We use sound recordings to support your learning. You must attend all dress rehearsals and final performances.
You will be asked to give permission to be filmed and photographed as part of this project.
There are no fixed days of rehearsals. Each project has its own practice schedule. Members opt into the projects that they find of interest.

We will contact you via our newsletter from City Arts. It has information about rehearsals for latest projects, and how to sign up for each project.
Current opportunities
We often have big gaps between project opportunities. If currently there are none available, your details will be kept informed by email, so look out for the freedom chorus newsletter.
