Household Support Fund

Service update

The Government announced in September 2024 that the Household Support Fund would be extended to 31 March 2025.

Household Support Fund

This grant is funded by the UK Government as Cost of Living support.

Last year, every Local Authority made their own local decision on how to distribute their grant funded allocation. The funding is for residents of the city who have been severely impacted by the current increases in living costs that have occurred.

Allocation of funds

The options for the allocation of Household Support Funding are progressing.

As part of our Household Support Fund, we are supporting pensioners who are on a low income and do not qualify for the Government’s Winter Fuel Payment. We have targeted pensioners who are in receipt of Council Tax Support and are on a low income, if you meet this criteria the £200 has now been credited to your Council Tax account and will show on your new Council Tax bill. A letter will also accompany the bill to confirm your award. You do not need to do anything further to claim this credit. Further information will be updated on this page as soon as it becomes available.

Additional help is available for customers affected by the cost of living increases.
