This is where local businesses and public sector partners, including Hull City Council, have agreed to work together, through a not for profit partnership, to improve the economic climate of the area.
If your business is located in the city centre, it may be part of our business improvement district (BID).
Business owners within the BID area pay an additional levy equivalent to one per cent of their business rates which contributes to the BID fund.
We use this fund to make improvements to the BID area over and above the statutory services provided by us and the police.
This includes -
- improving safety and security
- tidying up vacant properties
- promoting events and attractions
- encouraging visitors into the city centre
