The new Joint Minerals Local Plan was adopted on 21 November 2019. It replaces the previous plan from January 2004. The Plan provides minerals planning policies for Hull and the East Riding. It is also the starting point for determining mineral and other relevant planning applications.
The Joint Minerals Local Plan includes -
- a detailed policy framework against which applications for minerals development will be assessed
- defined safeguarding areas to help prevent viable reserves from being sterilised by non-mineral surface development
- allocations for future mineral workings necessary to provide for the area's future needs to 2026
- policies to help safeguard important minerals transport infrastructure such as wharves
East Riding of Yorkshire Council is leading on the production of the Joint Minerals Plan with Hull City Council. Full information about the production of the plan is available on their website.
