The action we can take
If action is not taken after you have tried to resolve the matter informally, contact us using the form on the previous page. Provide as many images you feel are needed. This is to show the issues on the land and explain how the condition of the land is affecting you.
In response to being contacted, we decide if it is appropriate to write to the owner or occupier of the land.
Where the condition of land is unacceptable, we establish the owner and occupier involve. We write to those concerned.
If steps fail to be taken, an enforcement officer will inspect the land. This may result in the decision to serve an enforcement notice. If this decision is taken, it will detail the works that must be completed and the timeframe to do it in. If this fails to take place, it may be an offence.
