Asylum seekers
Asylum seekers are individuals who have left their home country and are seeking protection in another country. This can be due to a well-founded fear of persecution or serious human rights violations.
They have applied for asylum but have not yet been legally recognized as refugees and are awaiting a decision on their asylum application. This means their claims for protection are still under review.
The process involves submitting an application to the immigration authorities in the host country. The authorities will then assess the claim. They will determine whether the individual qualifies for refugee status. If the claim is denied, the individual may be at risk of deportation.
Asylum seekrs are looking for safety from threats in their home country. This may include persecution based on -

Application Registration Card (ARC)
The Application Registration Card (ARC) is a credit card-sized plastic card issued to individuals who have applied for asylum in the UK. It serves as proof that the holder is an asylum seeker or a dependent of an asylum seeker. While the ARC contains biographical information, it does not include biometric data. This sets it apart from the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP). Depending on the information noted in the remarks section, the ARC may also indicate the holder's right to work.
