The Levelling Up Fund (LUF) Grant Scheme has been a great success and oversubscribed with expressions of interest for the funding. We are now no longer able to accept any further applications for the grant funding and have had to close the LUF grant scheme to expressions of interest.
Hull City Council was awarded £19.5 million from the government’s Levelling Up Fund to support infrastructure within the city and £7.5 million of this fund was used for this grant scheme. The scheme has brought unused floorspace of vacant or partially occupied property back into use and has allowed new businesses to open and operate, breathing new life into the area.
Grants were made available to fund viable proposals to -
- restore heritage buildings
- improve dilapidated buildings
- bring back into use vacant floorspace
- create new permanent jobs
- convert buildings to sustainable use
