Rough sleeper team

The Rough Sleeper Initative Team in Hull was developed in 2018 following funding from the Government to reduce rough sleeping.

The team is now part of the Changing Futures Programme, which has been developed to improve outcomes for adults experiencing multiple unmet needs.

The Rough Sleeper Team offers help to people who are rough sleeping, requiring support around both accommodation and their support needs. The team works in partnership with other services including Health and Mental Health services.

The Rough Sleeper Team also commission the outreach team - Hull Street Outreach Service, who complete daily outreach to those who are rough sleeping. Hull Street Outreach Service, work seven days a week, carrying out welfare checks, sign posting, referring into other services, and advocating for rough sleepers.

The outreach team receive referrals that will give information about someone who is rough sleeping, the team visit and make the necessary referrals to services.

Community Safety Hub

The Rough Sleeper and Changing Futures Team are based at the Hub, where those who are rough sleeping can speak to the team about their support needs and accommodation options.

  • Monday to Thursday - 9am to 4pm
  • Friday - 9am to 3.30pm

The hub closes each day for lunch -

  • 12pm to 1pm

The hub also offers drop-in clinics for rough sleepers and the following drop ins are available.

  • Tuesday – Hepatitis Clinic 10am to 12pm
  • Wednesday – Welfare Rights 9am to 12pm
  • Thursday – Mental Health drop in 2pm to 4pm
