Urgent information about eVisa’s
The Government is introducing a digital immigration system. This means they are replacing paper documents with an online record of your immigration status called an eVisa.
If you use a physical or legacy paper document to prove your immigration rights, go to the GOV.UK website to find out what you need to do next, and when you can do it.
You must make this change by Tuesday 31 December 2024.
Updating your physical document to an eVisa does not affect your immigration status or the conditions of your permission to enter or stay in the UK.
Ensure you keep your physical documents, even after they expire. You may need to provide information at a later date, so you must have these.
The documents being replaced are -
- Biometric residence permits (BRP)
- Biometric residence cards (BRC)
- passport endorsements, such as indefinite leave to enter wet ink stamps
- vignette stickers in passports, such as entry clearance or visa vignettes
You will need to create a UKVI account to access your eVisa. Creating a UKVI account is free and straightforward. You can view 4 eVisa videos that will help explain what you need to do on the GOV.UK website.
If you need help with completing the application support is available by contacting Migrant help over the phone on 07483170100 or by emailing evisa@migranthelpuk.org.
