We have allocated £6 million to spend on community high street improvements during a four-year programme. Work has already commenced to gather information and research about a number of local and neighbourhood centres in various locations around the city. The funding will be divided between the areas covered by all three Area Committees within the city -
- East
- North
- West
Over the course of the project we will improve a total of 16 neighbourhood and local centres spread across the city. The project is grassroots led with a programme of public consultation events being held to identify potential improvements from the people who -
- live
- work
- shop
in these areas. The approach will be tailored according to the results of the consultation for each area.
The areas are -
Priority year | East Area | North Area | West Area |
---|---|---|---|
1 and 2 | Barham Road Greenwich Avenue Holderness Road/Woodford |
Chanterlands Avenue Grampian Way |
Anlaby Road/ Coltman Street Gipsyville |
3 | Annandale Road | Endike Lane The Quadrant |
Goodwin Parade/Walker Street |
4 | Dalsetter Rise | Spring Bank | Anlaby Road Sibelius Road Bethune Avenue |
We are committed to deliver improvements to the high street that will benefit local residents by making the areas safer and more attractive.
