Report
When it rains heavily, our drains may not be able to clear the large volume of water away immediately. If the water remains standing on the surface when the rain has stopped and has not drained away after a reasonable amount of time. You can report this by -

- you can also use this form to report a missing or broken gully cover
If the gully is on private land you should ring a private drain company.
If the drain services more than one property and raw sewage is visible contact Yorkshire Water on 03451 242 424.
If flooding or blocked gullies is on the A63 and A1033 these are maintainable by the Highways Agency through their agents (Aone+) so any queries regarding you will need to telephone 03001 235 000.
Broken or missing gully cover or grate
If you see a gully with a broken or missing cover, let us know straight away. Try to be as precise as possible by giving us details of the road that it is on, nearby lamp posts or house numbers. We will inspect defective gullies within 24 hours to determine what actions are required to rectify the problem.

Lost items
If you have lost an item in a gully or drain, do not attempt to retrieve this yourself. Drains and gullies can be a dangerous place. Let us know straight away through the form below -
What happens next
We attempt to clear the blockage by jetting. If that is unsuccessful we may need to excavate to clear the blockage by removing earth around the gully and digging to find the problem.
