Course Information

The aim of the workshop is to -

  • give professionals the confidence and tools to undertake direct work with parents to increase their ability to protect
  • provide an understanding of what sexual abuse is, signs, symptoms, short and long term impact on victims
  • provide information and experiences of families who have been affected by sexual abuse
  • provide information on strategies and tactics used by offenders, both contact and online
  • gain an understanding of why victims do not tell or retract statements
  • consider how children and young people can be protected
