Admiral of the Humber Award
The following is the criteria for Lord Mayor of Hull and Admiral of the Humber Award, carrying the courtesy title of Honorary Burgess.
Nominees will only be considered if they -
- brought distinction to, and enhanced the city’s reputation in the area or activity concerned
- so far as the committee is aware, is a person or organisation of good character
and one or more of the following -
- is a citizen or former citizen of Kingston upon Hull and have delivered significant services in their field of endeavour
- have rendered selfless voluntary public service through charitable or other activities for the benefit of the city or its citizens
Exclusions -
- councillors - as they can be considered for both Honorary Alderman and Freedom of the City
- council employees – if the nomination is in relation to their remunerative duties
