Local elections
Local elections give people the chance to choose the decision-makers who affect their communities. Local councillors are involved with issues like -
- bin collections
- public transport
- local education
- environmental issues in the area.
They are often the first point of contact for residents to raise issues about their neighbourhood.
Scheduled elections
The next scheduled local election will be held on 7 May 2026, in all wards except Ings and Kingswood.
Some wards have 2 councillors, and some have 3, depending on the population in the area. 2 member wards therefore do not have elections on every cycle, as there is no seat to contest.
