Bulky collections

Alternative bulky waste collection options

Before booking a bulky collection think of these alternative ways of reusing or recycling your unwanted items.

The most environmentally friendly and often the quickest way is to donate them to a charity for reuse.

Reuse Electrical Collections operated by Dove House

You can now donate items such as large domestic appliances, fridges, and freezers for reuse if they are still working and in good condition. Plus, you can have them collected for free by Dove House.

Remember the appliances must be in good condition and in working order so they can be reused by someone else.

Some of the electrical appliances that Dove House will collect are -

  • washing machines
  • tumble driers
  • dishwashers
  • microwaves
  • cookers
  • single and double ovens
  • fridges
  • freezers

Request a charity collection (opens in new widow)

You can also contact Dove House directly regarding other items of furniture that you want to donate to the charity. They will often arrange to pick up these items from your property.

Recycling Centre

You can also recycle or donate unwanted items for reuse at your local Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC).

Ask your retailer

When buying a new product remember to check if your retailer has a recycling scheme in place. Many will take your old item away when they deliver to your home or will let you drop off items instore.

Sell it or give it away

If the item is in working order you may be able to give it away or sell it.

To sell or give away your items try -
