Textile recycling

Doorstep clothing collection

As part of our commitment to creating a greener and cleaner city, we are thrilled to introduce our new pilot scheme in collaboration with Envirofriendly. This project focuses on fortnightly clothing collections. It provides residents with a convenient way to recycle unwanted textiles.

Participating households will present their bagged textile waste on the kerbside with their blue bin collection. Residents are encouraged to fill bags with clean and wearable clothing, shoes, and textiles that they no longer need. On the designated collection day, Envirofriendly will collect the bags directly from residents' doorsteps.

We accept -

  • clothing that is clean and with no holes or tears
  • pairs of shoes
  • handbags
  • belts

 We cannot collect -

  • bedding
  • duvets
  • curtains
  • toys and games
  • rags
  • odd shoes
  • stained or damaged clothes
  • household waste
