Planning and development

Planners and developers must ensure that future developments are sustainable and do not increase flood risk to the site being developed or the surrounding area. The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) sets out how sustainable development should be delivered whilst taking flooding and climate change into account. The NPPF is supported by Planning Practice Guidance. It is our responsibility to implement national policy into local planning policy.
