Hygiene waste
Waste such as below, produced in the home, is classed as hygiene waste -
- incontinence waste
- catheters
- non-infectious dressings
- sanitary waste
- stoma bags
- soiled bedding
Double bag this waste using bin liners and place it in your black wheeled bin. If your healthcare professional thinks you generate too much waste, we may be able to offer a yellow striped bag collection or an additional black bin.
Infectious waste
We do not collect infectious or hazardous waste. Contact your healthcare professional for more information and to arrange its safe disposal.
Sharps/Needle boxes
- sharps/needle boxes must not be placed inside any other sacks, bags or domestic bins. They must be visible for collection
- sharps boxes must be locked shut prior to a collection
