We encourage applicants and agents to obtain pre-application pre-app advice for all types of proposal before submitting a planning application.
The pre-app process can help with -
- reducing delays in determining applications when they are made
- establishing whether the application is likely to be granted
- identifying issues that will need to be resolved and offering advice on how to achieve that
- identifying information that will be required to be submitted with the application
We offer both officer pre-apps and pre-apps with the Planning Committee Members. Officers can deal with all types of proposal. Member pre-apps are limited to -
- major applications
- proposals in Conservation Areas which would have a significant impact on the character and appearance of the area
- proposals which affect listed buildings
- a scheme that members have asked to be presented
- follow-up presentations requested by members following a first pre-app
- others in exceptional circumstances only
