HMOs subject to licencing and payment
Section 232 of the Housing Act 2004 requires local authorities to keep an up-to-date list of all the licenced HMOs in their area. It also allows them to charge a fee to provide a copy of this register to members of the public. Hull City Council charge £55.50 to provide a list of the current licenced HMOs within the city.
If you wish to pay the fee and get a copy of the register, complete our online form below. Do not attempt to make a payment before completing the enquiry form. You will need a specific reference number to complete the transaction. You will be provided with the unique reference number once an officer has processed your request.
Register of HMOs Subject to Licencing
If you have a query about the licence position of a specific property, complete the online form below with the details. Include the address in question. Once we have checked our records, we will contact you with the relevant information. This is free of charge.
If you are requesting a copy of the register of HMOs currently licensed, use the link below. You can fill out your contact details there. We will contact you with a unique reference number. You can use it to pay the administration charge. This is currently £55.50. Once the fee is received, we will forward you the addresses of the HMOs which are currently licensed. This will not include properties which are progressing through the licensing application process.

Paying your HMO Licence Fee
You can pay the balance of your licence fee online if your application for a HMO licence has been accepted. You will have been informed of the amount outstanding. A unique reference number will be provided. Contact us by completing our online form if you are unsure of the exact amount or reference number.
The unique number is the payment reference. Do not attempt to make a payment without this reference number.
